Both walked the runway, while London-based designer Straytukay worked with the designer on the distinctive inflatable boots that appeared throughout the show. Owens also recreated a DIY version of his signature ‘Kiss’ boot by designer Leo Prothman, which he had discovered while scrolling social media.

Around 100 guests were due to arrive shortly, and place cards were being set on large, furry stools from the Rick Owens furniture line adjacent to the hallway-turned-runway. I don't really socialize that much, but I think that's part of why I was attracted to Michèle because Michèle could bring people into my life, and I didn't have to go out. There was dancing, to music you really wouldn’t expect—a sort of reggaeton versus euro cheese sound clash—and wild talk of midnight swimming, and maybe more dancing down on the beach. Out above the ocean a fat, full moon hung high in the inky sky.
